Biblical Inspiration
God’s Word is full of inspiration and promises. Every
Christian should have a few victory verses to encourage you along the way or to
help you trust what you know to be true about God, especially in difficult
times. Here are just a few promises from God’s Word to inspire you. All
scripture references below are from the New Living Translation (NLT):
- “So
let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will
reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”- Galations 6:9
- “So
be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!” - Psalm
31:24
- “Study
this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you
will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper
and succeed in all you do.” - Joshua 1:8
- “Take
delight in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desires.” - Psalm
37:4
- “Oh,
the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when
they are in trouble.” - Psalm 41:1
- “You
can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” -
Matthew 21:22
- “For
the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the Lord takes care of
the godly.” - Psalm 37:17
- “…The
Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.” - Psalm
84:11
- “I
had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own
eyes.” - Job 42:5
- “For
I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good
and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.“ - Jeremiah 29:11
- “We
know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin
might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For
when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.” - Romans
6:6-7
- “This
means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old
life is gone; a new life has begun!” - 2 Corinthians 5:17
- “If
you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will
not rebuke you for asking.”- James 1:5
- “Your
word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” - Psalm 119:105
- “The
Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior my God is my rock, in whom I
find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of
safety.” - Psalm 18:2
- “Wait
patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for
the Lord.”- Psalm 27:14
- “Not
that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with
whatever I have.” – Philippians 4:11
- “For
you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” - Galations
3:26
- “Don’t
let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all
believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith,
and your purity.” - I Timothy 4:12
- “So
if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how
much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask
him.” - Luke 11:13
- “…obedience
is better than sacrifice…” – I Samuel 15:22
- “Let
us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one
another.” - Galations 5:26
- “Dear
children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the
truth by our actions.” - I John 3:18

How to Live in Harmony
May God, the source
of all patience and encouragement, enable you to live in perfect harmony with
one another according to the spirit of Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and
voice you may glorify God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, as Christ accepted
you, for the glory of God.
Romans 15:5-7

To be a Christian

Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does make me a different kind of
woman.” – Elizabeth Elliott

Thoughts on Praying
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is
daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart
without words than words without a heart.

Stop and Smell the Roses
Where you going in such a hurry
Don't you think it's time you realized
There's a whole lot more to life than work and worry
The sweetest things in life are free
And there right before your eyes
You got to Stop and Smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky
road
If you don't Stop and Smell the roses along the way
Before you went to work this morning in the city
Did you spent some time with your family
Did you kiss your wife and tell her that she's pretty
Did you take your children to your breast and love them
tenderly
You got to Stop and Smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky
road
If you don't Stop and Smell the roses along the way
Did you ever take a walk through the forest
Stop and dream a while among the trees
Well you can look up through the leaves right straight to
heaven
You can almost hear the voice of God
In each any every breeze
You got to Stop and Smell the Roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky
road
If you don't Stop and Smell the Roses along the way
You got to Stop and Smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday
You're gonna find your way to heaven is a rough and rocky
road
If you don't Stop and Smell the roses along the way

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to
console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
AMEN

Who am I?
Who am I? If I am what I do I will always have to do more
and achieve more to find my value. If I am what others say I am I will always
have to please people instead of God.
But if I listen to who God says I am and embrace His
identity in me I will find the freedom to live out all His plans for me.
Awesome God we have!!

WHEN YOUR WORRIES BEGIN TO INFLUENCE YOUR LIFE
A prayer for every day
“O God when I begin to worry about my work, help me to know
that with your help I can cope.
When I begin to worry about money, help me to remember that,
though money is important, there are things that money cannot buy - and these
are the most precious things of all.
Sometimes I begin to worry about my health, help me to
remember that worrying makes me worse, and that trusting always makes me
better.
When I begin to worry about those I love, help me to do
everything I can for them, and then to leave them in your care.
Give me tonight your peace in my troubled heart
Through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Amen”

Learning from failure
You've failed
many times, although you don't remember. You fell down the first time you tried
to walk. You almost drowned the first time you tried to swim. . . . Don't worry
about failure. . . . Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.
Sherman

LIFE IS LIKE WALKING THROUGH THE VELD
Along life’s journey one has many experiences - it is like
walking through the veld.
One person might look at the far side of the veld, measure
the distance, complain about the heat of the sun and all the stones along the
road - such a person ends up exhausted and frustrated.
Someone else may start off by inhaling the fresh air,
noticing every flower, insect, bird and bee and being occupied all the time
with the wonder of nature. Such a person ends up refreshed and renewed.
The same applies to walking with or without God. With Him
our journey becomes a living experience, without Him life is dull and above all
meaningless.
What do we see when we look through a window? Do we see the
sky or do we see the mud down below?

Life with Jesus
Many people compensate all the time. They try to be
something else, pretend to be someone else, camouflage their identity,
manipulate their friendship, and reflect a false image, wealth and potential.
To live truly, is to keep on living without any pretentious,
to be your true self with honesty to yourself and frankness to your neighbor.
It is only when you get to know the real life that living
becomes an experience and not an endurance. The key to living is to bring real
life into your living. Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. To live
without Him is to pretend, camouflage and manipulate; life is empty and
superficial. The life Christ gives to all who ask Him, is free, and abundant.

WHY ME LORD?
How often we become resentful when we have to bear trials,
when sorrow and misfortunes come knocking at our door. ”Why me Lord?” we ask,
“Why is life so unfair to me?”
But it isn't really, you know. Every single person has
problems, only some have learnt the secret of dealing with them. They have
followed in Christ‘s footsteps, for did He not accept the agony of the Cross to
bring us forgiveness, and did He not rise again and triumph over death?
And these folk who go through life so serenely and who seem
to bear their burdens so easily - how do they do it?
Maybe it is because they have learnt to accept what comes,
to know that as Christians they are not exempt from misfortune, but that they,
with God’s help, can turn every tragedy into a triumph. Do we not read in
Romans 8: 28: “we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”
We too then, can turn our tragedies into triumphs if we
believe that God is in control of our lives, if we ask Him for strength to bear
our burdens and if we listen to that still, small voice to guide us in His way.

On Who Do you Depend?
Everybody in life has to depend on something. Some people
rely on other people, some on money, status, honor and acknowledgement.
Some people find compensation in visiting doctors and depend
on medicine, drugs and pills. Without these things they cannot live. Because we
must depend, let us depend on that which is everlasting and not temporary.
God
alone is everlasting and totally dependable. Trusting in the Lord means that we
have someone immovable on whom to lean. Believe in Christ, believe in His way
of thought and so overcome all fear, hate, inferiority and every form and
manner of defeat.
You have never even imagined the things God has prepared for
those who love Him and depend on him.

People in My Life
In life, you will realize that there is a role for everyone
you meet. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, and some
will teach you, but the ones that are important are the ones who bring the best
out in you. They’re the rare and amassing people who remind you why it’s worth
it.

Jy is hier!

Sal ons links gaan, of regs? Sal ons die wêreld
dien, of die Here?
Josua moes ook kies en sy besliste woorde was: “Aangaande my en my
huis, ons sal die Here dien.”
As die Here
Hulle was
As die Here
God is, dien Hom of ……………………………..?
